Traveling on a Budget | Expedia x Affirm

I'm always getting asked how we travel so often and I truly love getting to share my tips and all that I've learned with you all!

First things first, I should say that travel is prioritized for us. Of course, bills always come first, but travel definitely comes second. We only get out and buy clothes and things of that sort when we can, and honestly, we don't really care to do those things because we would rather have an adventure!

Travel has become a priority because its something that genuinely helps my relationship with Jesus. And that's the most important thing in this life! When I'm out in nature exploring, I feel so free and connected to Him. When I'm home, I feel like satan has a constant target on my back with the mission to take me down. My anxiety and depression is always creeping up on me. But the second we pull out of the driveway, step foot on a trail, or get off of a plane, I'm truly at peace. God is big on granting the desires of your heart and I know this is His way of doing that for me. So, it's maybe not so much the 'travel' that I love, but the joy that it brings my soul. it's seeing my Creator in His Creation.

Everyone 'finds Jesus' in a different way, this is mine. But, I'd be lying if I didn't say that prioritizing travel was easy. It's not. Again, we make sacrifices. And big ones too that aren't just skipping date nights - we plan on not purchasing a home and living in a fifth wheel, we plan on sharing our truck... things like that. But that is all okay with us. We just want Jesus and travel is how we find Him - even if that means not having a ton of money.

Thankfully we found a way to do this without breaking the bank - this isn't a sponsored blog post, I just truly want everyone to be able to see the world, find Jesus and joy, and not stress about how you're going to do that!
Recently we discovered that when you book on Expedia you can now pay with this awesome thing called Affirm!

Essentially, it's a micro-loan company in the form of an app that allows you to make monthly payments and let me tell ya, this is a game changer!

It can be so hard to spend huge chunks of money on trips, so this truly brings peace of mind and also gives you the opportunity to actually go on those trips you've always dreamed of without as much stress!

Affirm does what's called a 'soft pull' on your credit so it really shouldn't effect it much, if at all, which is awesome!

I think the main perk with this is that since Expedia does bundle trips (flight, hotel, car) to pretty much any destination, you really can travel so much easier now especially if you're on a budget!

So, for example:

Say you want to book a trip to Australia - you will head to Expedia and book whatever bundle deal you like (you do have to do a bundle deal to get the Affirm payment option)

Once you choose your trip, it'll give you the option to checkout with Affirm where you can choose your payment plan.

Let's say that paying upfront, the trip would have cost $5,000... not something most of us having laying around! But, since you chose Affirm, we will say you went with the 6 month payment plan, now you owe $915/month. I believe most, if not all, trips have some interest but it's truly nothing insane! Say you went with the 12 month payment plan, you'd probably owe around $480/month. SO much more doable!! Obviously this example is a high cost trip, but I just wanted to show that Affirm makes those trips a little easier to go on now!

We used this method for our Hawaii trip recently and truly loved this experience!

Plus, we have always had great experience booking with Expedia to begin with, Affirm is truly just another perk!
Again, this is in no way sponsored, but I hope this relieves you a little in now knowing there is indeed ways to travel when on a tight budget! I can't wait to see all the incredible trips you all book with these tips!
